Job Summary:
The Designer role at Lupo Group is responsible for supporting the interior design process, focusing on client support, material gathering and maintaining vendor relationships. Their role includes managing materials, catalogs, samples, and references that designers use to create and execute design concepts. Additionally, the designer role supports on-going office management initiatives such as website, social media, posting job descriptions, etc. Here are some key responsibilities and tasks they might perform:
Primary Responsibilities:
Research Assistance:
Assisting designers in finding specific materials or information for their projects.
Providing access to reference books, design magazines, trade publications, and digital resources.
Vendor and Supplier Relations:
Building and maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers to acquire samples and updated catalogs.
Coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and samples.
Database Management:
Maintaining a digital database of resources for easy access and retrieval.
Updating inventory and catalog information regularly.
Educational Support:
Providing guidance on best practices for material selection and usage.
Organizing workshops, seminars, or training sessions for designers to stay informed about new products and trends.
5. Industry Events:
Attend industry events through IIDA, NEWH, ASID, etc.
Coordinate lists and attendees for Lupo Group sponsored events.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Website Design Management:
Coordinate with web-designer periodic updates, project pages, direction for the creation of content.
Social Media:
Building and maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers to acquire samples and updated catalogs.
Coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and samples.
Marketing Material:
Coordinate the creation of brochures, mailers, etc.
Maintain client and vendor contact lists.
Job Postings:
Support leadership in office management including creating and maintaining job postings through online platforms.
Skills and Qualifications:
Knowledge of interior design principles and materials.
Strong organizational and cataloging skills.
Proficiency in database management and digital cataloging systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to stay updated with industry trends and product innovations.
Experience in working with suppliers and vendors in the design industry.
Tools and Resources:
Digital Libraries: Online platforms that offer access to a wide range of design resources.
Cataloging Software: Programs like AutoCAD, Revit, or specific library management systems.
Trade Publications: Magazines and journals that provide insights into the latest trends and products.
Material Samples: Physical swatches and samples of fabrics, paints, flooring, and other materials.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture or a related field, preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency in architectural design software (Revit, SketchUp, etc.).
Strong graphic and presentation skills.
Knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction practices.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Experience:
Prior internship or work experience in an architectural firm is a plus but not required.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position based in Atlanta, GA.
The role may require travel to project sites and client meetings.
Flexible working hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
